Retirement Benefits

Retirement benefits: Blackjack:
I spent the entire night thinking about what my son who is an online poker player told me. He said the best way for me to spend my time in retirement was to learn an online gambling game and play it for low stakes at one of the many web sites.
So started my day in the morning surfing the web to try and find the game that would keep me occupied and maybe make me my first million. Having been an avid fan of James Bond I said to myself what better game to learn than Blackjack. Boy was I in for a surprise.
I have been a teacher of mathematics for 31years and the one rule of the game seemed simple enough to me. Cards in hand should total or be as close to 21 in total with the Ace having a value of one or eleven, the number cards up to nine having their face value and 10 and the picture cards having a value of ten, suits having no consequence. The objective was to beat the dealer.
I had the option and so did the dealer to call for additional cards if I wanted, called a "hit" or if satisfied let my cards "stand". Pairs could be "split" into two hands played separately, and so on and so on till the confusion in my brain began.
So I chose the very convenient Strategy trainer/free blackjack game to check out what I had understood so far. It was highly instructive as I kept playing and on my first test drive placing 100$ bets I played ten hands to check my proficiency. I won five and lost five hands, a 50% win record at the first attempt which can also be constituted as a 50% loss record, more a case of the glass being half full or...
The best part of the experience was that I had spent my morning hours in one place, not spent any money and had not got into anyone's face. The next time around I intend to wager small stakes and hope to make my first million before I pass on to the casinos in heaven or hell, wherever I am destined to be.
